I received a free copy of Women & Money by Suze Orman from Goodreads for my honest review. My children always know where the blue suitcase is. I am always gaining knowledge from Suze Orman in regards to becoming a smart, financially safe and strong and secure woman. Knowledge is power my Grandfather always taught me. This book is a revised book of her original and is updated with new information everyone can gain from. Notice I said gain. LOL! She breaks her book down in several parts so you can take them a step at a time. You've Earned it, Don't Lose It The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom The Courage to Be Rich The Road to Wealth The Laws of Money, the Lessons of Live The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous & Broke Suze Orman's Action Plan The Money Class The Adventures of Billy & Penny I highly recommend this book to anyone who is wanting to improve their financial wealth. It will benefit you if you are trying to get out of debt, make smarter money choices, save more money, or just become wealthy. Gain financial power!!

This is by far the best personal finance book I have read. Her advice is practical, would be easy to implement if you have the motivation and personal discipline (I admit I struggle with that) and this book definitely helped me re-prioritize a few goals and gave me some concrete actions to take. I recommend this book over Smart Women Finish Rich (written in the 90s so none of the advice factors in the internet and seemed appallingly out of date) and Total Money Makeover (which was really preachy This is by far the best personal finance book I have read. I think this is a great book for people wanting to learn more about financial security and empowerment for themselves and their loved ones. I feel it is accessible to those who might even be uncomfortable with the topic of money and how to manage it. I really like how Suze doesn't just go into the practical steps of financial management, but also the emotional side of money and any mental blocks that may be holding you back. She seriously comes across almost as a spiritual financial coach! Suze tries not to get overly detailed in any part of the book as not to overwhelm people and I think she succeeds. I feel pretty good about my/our own financial health, but I was anxious to read this book to make sure I had all my bases covered. While there were certainly parts I already knew, Suze definitely surprised me a few times with some great suggestions. One was thinking about downsizing your home before or at retirement. She makes excellent points about why this is such an important decision and related financial impacts/benefits. As a result, we are thinking about downsizing our home sooner than we may have otherwise. Some elements of this book are basic, but I feel the book deserves five stars for being holistic in its approach (understanding the emotional relationship we have with money) as well as its breadth in covering all the major topics of financial health.

Suze Orman provides general and specific financial advice in a way that will be accessible and resonate with many women. Orman is able to frame financial literacy and self-advocacy as attributes consistent with the traditional female gender roles that many women feel pressure to conform to. Just as you need to put on your own oxygen mast first on the plan, you must also take care of your own finances first so you can be there for your family in the long-run and not end up creating a financial burden for those around you. I found her message very empowering, and Orman provides specifics to help the reader enact the promise to value oneself take financial control over her life. If you've been feeling like dealing with finances is just not something you want to think about because it makes you uncomfortable, this would be a great read for you.

As a procrastinator when it comes to facing certain areas of my own finances and woman closer to retirement than I like to acknowledge, this book was a much needed wake up call for me. I'm already taking steps to correct that and look forward to reaching the ultimate goal of living a clean and balanced life, thanks to Suze Orman's plan. This will likely become a great gift for many friends and definitely a book to share! Thank you.

Some books you read once, then you return it to the library or it stays in your online library. This is not that kind of book. I plan on ordering a hard copy so that I can go back and reread and revisit information. This is a great book to get yourself back in control of your money rather than the other way around. As someone who doesn't know much about personal finance this book opened my eyes about many life situations that I had not considered. Also, the fact that this book is dedicated to women of all ages makes it more important to me. I really wish I can implement most of the things she recommends. This would, I think, give me a sense of freedom and security.

This book is phenomenal for anyone, especially women who have long been in the shadows when it comes to their finances. Suze Orman, is amazing at explaining how to build a strong financial foundation, as well as, how to be a smart spender and investor.

Started out more as a self-help book, which I hate. But have to admit she made good points. We (mostly) know what we need to do, so why don't we do it? As the book progressed, she provided more detailed pointers, including some that are likely less obvious to most. Overall a good starter money book
