Everything that's true about the older editions of this cookbook apply here. In most ways the most impressive cookbook I've ever seen. The recipes run the full spectrum of possibilities--from appetizers to entrees and side dishes to dessert. There's bound to be some dishes in this collection to suit every taste. And the recipes themselves *work*. They've been tested and refined to create the best possible dish. I personally found many of the recipes impractical from a personal standpoint. And the recipes themselves *work*. They've been tested and refined to create the best possible dish. I personally found many of the recipes impractical from a personal standpoint. Some of the ingredients are difficult to obtain, other ingredients are too specialized. (i.e.--I'd only use that ingredient for that recipe, and I wouldn't use it up before it would go bad.) I also don't have room for all the gadgets and tools needed for many of the recipes. However, my biggest issue is the complexity of most of the dishes. (In some ways I guess that makes sense. Simply recipes probably don't require the attention of America's Test Kitchen.) Still, I don't have the time or energy required to make most of the recipes in this collection. Overall, I'd highly recommend this collection to cooks who have a full-sized kitchen and time too cook. The recipes, while often complex and time-consuming, seem to be very tasty.

Great information and tons of recipes. Good for an experienced cook and a beginner. I didn’t give it 5 stars because I found that some recipes I had were better than the ones they offered and there are a number of recipes that I won’t try because they don’t suit me or my family, but that’s not the authors’ fault. This is easily one of my favourite recipe books because of how broad it is and the detail offered in the explanations.

Great cookbook that I'll continue to use over the years. Helpful advice and recipes for most things you'd ever want to make. Loved the soup section especially and have already tried two - both worked well. Would recommend. Drawback is it is so full of information it is heavy and a bit awkward because of its size.

Like all of the books produced by America's Test Kitchen, this collection of their recipes from 2001 to 2019 is not only a beautifully designed book but with lots of really great recipes. The book is divided into sections by food groups and features multiple recipes on each page. The best part is that they explain why each recipe was successful breaking it down into basic steps for replication.

Good book of recipes but doesn't do what it said. It doesn't accurately provide all the recipes from the show. So, that was disappointing. One of the recipes I loved and which inspired me to get the book is contained in the book but altered from the show.

An excellent cookbook for anyone, especially someone wanting to learn to cook (everything)! A great graduation or wedding gift. Comprehensive with great instructions, photographs, product recommendations.

Another great ATK cookbook. A lot of recipes that are great for the beginner to the more experienced. What I like is that they give you a break down of why the recipe works.

Dec 30, 2019 - this cookbook is my # 1 GO-TO cookbook and some friends have since purchased their own copies as they were so impressed. Each recipe has a segment that tells you why the recipe works with the ingredients and the every day techniques for the everyday cook. Jan 10, 2019 - This cookbook is HUGE, comprehensive and I regard it as the Bible of Cooking/baking. As it contains hundreds of recipes I will go through the book picking out recipes that interest me and that I will eventually try Dec 30, 2019 - this cookbook is my # 1 GO-TO cookbook and some friends have since purchased their own copies as they were so impressed. Each recipe has a segment that tells you why the recipe works with the ingredients and the every day techniques for the everyday cook. Jan 10, 2019 - This cookbook is HUGE, comprehensive and I regard it as the Bible of Cooking/baking. As it contains hundreds of recipes I will go through the book picking out recipes that interest me and that I will eventually try. I love cooking as my mom was a chef and started grooming my interest since I was about 4. My mom, her mother and grandma were chefs, and an aunt and her mom on my dads side were both chefs in New York. Some of my earliest memories are of ‘helping’ my mom cook in a rather large commercial kitchen that routinely (daily) fed hundreds of people 3 meals a day. All the kitchen staff doted over me and as I got older began to teach me the art of cuisine. I never went into the chef’s world per se, but I’ve been known to prepare meals for up 100 plus people. I love to cook, bake, bbq, and invent various methods and meals. I will leave this book open as ‘being read’ for at least 1 year.
