Dr. Honor Thomas has been abducted, shackled, and kept drugged for six days. She doesn’t have any memory of where she is, how she got there, or who abducted her. Matt Walker is a former navy SEAL who was discharged after going against orders and rescuing several abused children from a warlord in Afghanistan. Now he’s employed by and staying in ASI’s mountain retreat to get his head together after seeing the horrors the children he saved endured. While fishing he finds a half dead woman floating in the river, naturally he bolts into action and pulls her to safety. Honor wakes long enough to tell him no hospital or doctor can be called....so he calls his ASI team member and medic Metal, (Midnight Promises) they check her out and discover she was shackled, drugged, and mysteriously has Matt’s name written on her arm. As she slowly recovers and gets her memory back, they realize that her shipping magnate father is also missing. Once she and Matt start putting the pieces together they realize there is a plan in motion to destroy a whole city. It’s up to Matt and his buddies from ASI to stop what can be Armageddon for Los Angeles. As usual we’re treated to sexy times, falling in love, action, and suspense. This is definitely a story that will hook you from page one, if your a fan of LMR’s Midnight & Men of Midnight Series this is a must read!! Lastly, we’re introduced to a couple new (very interesting) characters....totally looking forward to more of them!!

But overall, pretty similar to the other books in this series.

The sixth book in the Men of Midnight series by Lisa Marie Rice. Honor Thomas was abducted and somehow managed to escape. But she ends up in the river and near death when she is rescued by Matt Walker. Matt is a former Navy SEAL who has become a recluse. This one was a bit crazy with how it started out. I was surprised that Honor could do what she could and so very glad that she stumbled upon Matt. Being found by the guys of Midnight is always a good thing, but especially in Honor's case as her memory came back. She needed all the guys to help with her father and then with all the crap that they found out. I was glad that the guys were able to save the day. Solid 4 ⭐ This was another great romantic suspense from Lisa Marie Rice. I love her Men of Midnight series. The plot is always well executed and the characters are smart. Honor and Matt made a great couple.

Incredibly boring and nothing we haven't seen a billion times from this author's other books. You could cut and paste it from the other stories. I'm very disappointed. I think Ms. Rice has lost her spark.

I've been waiting for this book ever since I read Nick and Kay's book, Midnight Fever, and it's worth every minute of this wait ... Wow !!! Everything changes when he “fishing” a woman in the torrential waters and cold and she has his name and his location GPS coordinates written on her arm. Honor is confused, afraid, just can’t remember what, why ... the only thing she knows is that she has to find Matt Walker and that the numbers on her arm must match the numbers on the vehicle's computer, she is going very fast, the road is narrow and dangerous, then a deer appears, she deflects, but she can’t regain control and the car descends the bluff to the river. The action in this book does not take a minute to pause, it's mind-boggling. Now I'm hoping that Luke Reynolds has a book, and who knows even a new series with Jacob Black and his men.

I am in love with Lisa Marie Rice's Men of Midnight series. I've been waiting forever for the next book and I was super happy this baby downloaded to my Kindle that I forgo sleep. The heroes of this series have always been hard and gritty and Matt Walker is no different. However, what set him apart is perhaps how Ms Rice wrote him. His backstory are at times too painful for me to read that I had to stop for a moment, hug my cats and then delve back into the book. It was tough for me to read as I'm a bereaved mother (I lost my eldest daughter to a rare stomach disease last year) so anything to do with death of children, I get triggered. Honor's backstory is just as horrific too and again, I had to stop and pull myself together before I could continue. I'm glad I did because this could be one of my top 5 books from this series. I believed in this book, Ms Rice laid the groundwork for the next Men of Midnight hero and I couldn't wait for the next installment.

For the life of me, I couldn't remember anything about Matt. Didn't know which book mentioned him either. So it was frustrating at times--you know, when one doesn't get the inside jokes? Anyhow, this is a solid RS and the danger it presents is just thrilling and chilling at the same time. Honor is one cool heroine, and she has my respect. LMR's heroines these days are simply a delight to read. I really enjoy LMR's writing, I love the strong capable men who are instantly smitten. I love the heroine being in danger and yet keeping her head. That said, I would love to see a heroine that wasn't a super woman in some way. I'll keep reading this series in hopes that the next one is a bit different. They are slightly repetitive.

I don't know if I'm just being extra sensitive considering RWA continues to set itself on fire - but I do also know in previous LMR books I'd noticed it ... so that was already like "eeeeeehhhhhhhhhh this ... I feel itchybad..." And I get Honor was drugged and supposed she's this magical machine perfect doctor unicorn and shit - but ... [yes, eyeroll] AND I get she was trying to get over the drugs, but it felt like that was a good 50% of what I read. And I can admit to myself - for this/these books ... I really don't give a shit about the bad guys or what they're doing. Which... is also not great for getting plot etc - I just ... honestly it'd be hard to care less. That's how I feel about the "baddies" in LMR books. Like with Ward's BDB books. So anyway, all of that and I wasn't into the couples chemistry - and the sex etc is I want to say an equal part of the draw of a LMR book. So ... I was like "why are you doing this to yourself?" I kept rolling my eyes, and getting distracted - and admittedly I've been extra worse distracted even for me, but I was more on twitter than actually reading the words so ... yeah.

Good characters. Good plot Enjoyable, with a complex and unusual plot. The heroine was smart and reacted credibly, and there was a sympathetic treatment of PTSD from both civilian and military points of view that gave depth to the characters. I absolutely loved this story! It was a nail-biting ride of suspense, and romance with a few tears and laughter thrown in. Ms. Rice is the best at romantic suspense as she balances the story so well. As I tend to love more romance in a story, she always has a plot that makes these two work very well. Not Suprised Each time I open my Kindle app, my first move is to search for a new Lisa Marie Rice novel. When I see a new release, my day is made, so I'm not suprised that this novel is as good as I've come to expect. I'd have liked to see more interaction from past characters, in a pereferial setting, especially Suzanne and Allegra, but I guess you can't have everything. I'll eagerly await the next "Midnight".

Latest Men of Midnight series is a winner As always, Lisa Marie Rice delivers an action-filled romantic suspense. This is the story of Honor and Matt, with some sightings of Felicity, Metal, Jacko and the rest of the Men of Midnight (Alpha Security Inc.). They work together to restore Honor’s memory and stop the attack on American soil. Great chemistry between the main characters, and a nice balance of action and romance.

Great men that will always fight for what’s right and the women they need to protect. Lisa has delivered another hot, sexy, suspenseful page turner. Honor and Matt are stubborn and passionate and make a great team to find out what happened to Honor. Power hungry and greedy men threaten our country. Our only hope is a woman who can’t remember and a disillusioned ex-military man and his friends at ASI.
